Colin McCahon
Spring, Ruby Bay

Artwork Detail
This painting, with its exuberant colour and interlocking shapes, is one of McCahon's most Cezanne-like paintings. It also marks the end of a period when he was creating pure landscapes. The high colour key and aerial perspective render the place as being filled with light and growth.
