Gordon Walters
Study For Waitara

Artwork Detail
Gordon Walters is famed for his ‘koru’ paintings and prints which reference the abstract designs on k?whaiwhai panels, which in turn are derived from plants. He explored other motifs in his work, including this one which could easily have been inspired by the leaf forms of twiggy coprosma, black beech or kowhai. (Enduring Nature: Hoki Atu Hoki Mai, 2004)
