Inscription
(typed, attached to mount, l.c.). Rob Roy Tavern, Freeman's Bay, 1884. John Currie, architect.. Victorian exuberance ideally suited public-houses but, even so, the Rob Roy's corner oriel is fully appreciated only in a worm's eye view. Who, one wonders, devised a foliated light bracket to blend with the plaster flowers?.
