Ocean within no. 8

Artwork Detail
Two anonymous figures walk towards us; their faces masked in black while in the background a trio strides across the rural landscape. Dressed in a suit, the central figure appears like a photographic negative cut and pasted onto the landscape. 'Ocean Within No. 8' reveals the influence of Pop art with its balance between fine art and mass culture. Dressed in suits, the dark figures allude to urban society’s complex relationship with the land.
