Peter Peryer
Blood Veil

Artwork Detail
Peter Peryer’s 2015 photograph Blood Veil uses one of his most memorable titles because his image is of a hand-loomed shot silk scarf dyed with madder in the hue known as Blood Red. While the physical size of the actual textile is unclear, it appears to be massive and looming. The inclusion of metallic floating wefts in the scarf’s weaving give it an iridescent quality that it shimmers; giving the textile 4 hues of red – blood red, scarlet 9red tinged with orange), carmine and maroon.
