Don Binney
Landscape

Artwork Detail
There are no birds swooping above and the countryside – just land and a few faint clouds, which stream across the sky in fine a cluster of wiggly white lines. Don Binney sculpts the painted surface, combing it to create fine lines, and applying heavy drooping impasto. Each section of bush and pasture is crisply defined, reflecting Binney's intimate engagement with the landscape and how the different areas relate to eachother.
