Theo Schoon
Self-portrait, Rotorua

Artwork Detail
In 1950 Theo Schoon moved to Rotorua in order to undertake further research into rock carving and painting. Impressed by the geothermal nature of the environment he undertook a photographic project that continued for many years.
The 1950 self-portrait was probably made in the Waimangu area, one of his favourite sites to work in.
