Ava Seymour
AK79

Artwork Detail
Ava Seymour's three-part panorama of Auckland's street-life transforms the city into a punk zone. By mixing her collage techniques with images of known locals (and some infamous internationals), she presents a storyboard history of our local musical history as if they have become characters in a dramatic social history which is waiting to be encountered.
AK79 2004, The Naval and Family 2005 and Exotica 2004 are a key social document recalling a period when Auckland's youth culture was becoming defined by its need to be international.
