Peter Peryer: The Man in the Photograph

 —

exhibition Details

Using examples from Peter Peryer’s (1941–2018) fascinating self-portraiture series as well as photographs of the artist by others, this display tracks these images through various formats to show the depth and range of Peryer’s recently donated archive.

Whether appearing within a row of negatives, as part of a proof sheet, or in a multitude of other media, students of Peryer’s work will be able to gain an understanding of his process and the context in which these works were created. With the photographs not made by Peryer, we see the life of an artist reflected in the images he chose to save for posterity.
