In Trust for Tomorrow: The Greg J Moyle Foundation Bequest

 —

exhibition Details

This exhibition celebrates the promised gift of 20 significant works of New Zealand art to the Gallery from Auckland collector and philanthropist Greg Moyle, featuring paintings by Rita Angus, Jacqueline Fahey, Louise Henderson, Frances Hodgkins, Ralph Hotere, Raymond McIntyre, John Pule and Michael Smither.

The collection offers an overview of some pivotal moments from Aotearoa New Zealand’s art history, revealing the way artists have responded to globalisation, war, and societal changes. The works range from the intimate and closely observed to the surreal and abstract.

More than a collection of artworks, In Trust for Tomorrow is a gift for the future. Greg Moyle’s bequest helps the Gallery grow key aspects of its collection of New Zealand art, ensuring that these works can be shared for generations to come.
