Private tours are led by a knowledgeable guide and run exclusively for your group.  

On our Gallery highlights tour, you'll: 

• Explore the secrets of the building from heritage foundations to the Gallery’s award-winning contemporary architecture and design 
• Journey through the Gallery’s collection and learn more about significant artworks from Aotearoa New Zealand, the Pacific and beyond 
• Hear behind-the-scenes stories of artists, artworks, ideas and events that have shaped art in Aotearoa and internationally 

The Gallery highlights tour is perfect for first-time visitors or frequent Gallery-goers who want to learn more about the unique history and significance of Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki and its collection. 

Booking information 

• Private tours are run exclusively for your group, with no other visitors joining 
• Groups can be booked for up to 15 people maximum, if you’d like to book a larger group, please email gallerytours@aucklandartgallery.com 
• A minimum booking fee of $280 applies, which includes up to 7 people 
• When booking for 6 people or less, your cart will automatically update to meet the minimum booking fee 
• Private tours can be booked every day, except Christmas Day, and must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance
