Wi Taepa: Retrospective presents the 30-year art practice of one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s senior Māori clay artists. Two essays trace the development of Taepa’s art, from his grounding in te ao Māori (the Māori worldview) through to the international experiences that have influenced his practice as an artist and as an arts educator. The power of Taepa’s artistic vision is conveyed by the full-colour illustrations of artworks selected from his most significant series of works.
