Combining 'live action' and cartoon, Lye used three film strips of the Gasparcolor system to create 'Rainbow Dance' adding colours and patterns to the live footage.

This is one of a series of Len Lye films reprinted by the National Film Unit to form part of the 1980 Auckland Art Gallery exhibition ‘Len Lye: A Personal Mythology’.
