Archive Collection Detail
This custom-made visitors book came to the Gallery when the Partridge Collection of paintings of Māori was deposited, and then finally gifted, in 1913 and 1915 respectively. It had been made available to those viewing these, mostly portraits, when they were on display in the Lindauer Art Gallery, a dedicated space above Partridge's shop in Queen St, Auckland.
The first entry is dated 20 January 1909 and the final written comment was made by J M Partridge on the 30th December 1912, with four further signatures appearing in the left hand margin from the last day of that year.
