C.F.Goldie, painter, studied at the Julian Academy in Paris and at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. Well known for his portraits of Maori, he also taught art. The correspondence here is two outward letters to the author James Cowan commenting on cover design for a proposed publication and a sketch of the same and on the quality of proofs of reproduction of his Maori portraits
