In 1995 Frances Hodgkins' biographer, Dr E H McCormick, a pioneering historian of New Zealand art, left a valuable bequest to the Gallery. These funds have been directed to collection publications and to the research library and archive on the Gallery's mezzanine floow, which is now named in his honour.
