Ahead of the biggest exhibition in Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki’s 132-year history, Toi Tū Toi Ora: Contemporary Māori Art, we’re throwing open the floor for ‘Toi Talks’. Encounter dialogue, discussion and debate in this very first in a new series of lively panel talks, which will explore Auckland Art Gallery’s unique role in collecting, preserving and sharing Toi Māori.

 

In the first of our ‘Toi Talks’, Auckland Art Gallery Director Kirsten Lacy will be joined by Graham Tipene (Ngāti Whātua, Ngāti Manu, Ngāti Hine and Ngāti Haua), Bernard Makoare (Te Uri o Hau, Ngāti Whātua, Te Waiariki, Te Kaitutae), and Dr Maree Sheehan (Ngāti Maniapoto-Waikato, Ngāti Tuwharetoa, Raukawa, Ngāti Tahu- Ngāti Whaoa).
