1–2pm

event Details

Join us for an introduction to the artist Tania Kovats’ artwork.

British-born artist Kovats' sculptures, large-scale installations, writing and drawings explore our understanding of landscape and her preoccupation with the sea. She has received many awards and accolades over her career and is an internationally recognised artist. Kovats has published about the maritime imagination, is learning to sail and is developing sculptural prototypes to be part of a coral reef restoration project.

She will be speaking about her sculptures, drawing, writing and public-realm work that explores landscape, environmental concerns and her love of water.

This lecture is brought to you by Auckland University of Technology supported by the School of Art + Design in collaboration with Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki.
