Members Preview: Toi Tū Toi Ora: Contemporary Māori Art

Celebrate and discover the dynamic, ever-changing expression that is Māori art in Toi Tū Toi Ora: Contemporary Māori Art, a survey of artworks from the 1950s through to the present day. Featuring over 300 artworks by 112 Māori artists, this exhibition celebrates painting, sculpture, printmaking, clay-making, body adornment, photography, digital media, film and installation art. Explore contemporary Māori art, informed by a Māori perspective and worldview, in the largest exhibition in the 132-year history of Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki.

We welcome all Gallery Members to attend the preview of this landmark exhibition on Saturday 5 December. The exhibition will be open exclusively to Members from 9–11am with the private viewing followed by a short talk by Curator, Māori Art, Nigel Borell at 11am in the Gallery Auditorium. Seating for the talk is on a first-come-first-served basis (bookings not taken).
