Breathwork for the whole family | Te mahi haa ma mātou katoa ahakoa te pakeke

10:15-11.15am

event Details

Come along and enjoy this free workshop that uses the creatures and characters of the ngāhere (forest) to captivate your child’s imagination and engage them in calming breathwork practices.

Humans have an unbreakable bond with the trees that surround us – we supply their carbon dioxide and they supply our oxygen. So what better place to teach tamariki to breathe, than under the branches of Tāne?

This workshop is offered in Te Wao Nui A Tāne - the mutli-sensory interactive forest created by Artist Charlotte Graham in the Creative Learning centre at the Gallery. Whakangā kaiako/Yoga teacher Amy Bassett will be offering an hour of play, pūrakau/Māori creation stories and Takaro Te Haa/breath games to enchant your tamariki and introduce them to a valuable life skill - breath control.

Adults are very welcome, our workshop is also wheelchair accessible.
