Join us for an illuminating tour with eminent New Zealand writer Peter Simpson and exhibition curator Julia Waite as they unravel some of the possible meanings behind Colin McCahon’s enigmatic number paintings.

This conversational event will provide a thoughtful look into the history behind McCahon’s work with numbers. Peter and Julia will guide you through the exhibition, sharing insights along the way as they discuss McCahon’s symbolism and offer clues to interpreting his grids, interest in faith and spirituality, and the stark language of black and white.
