A cello performance for An Arrangement for 5 Rooms

11am and 12pm (15 minute performances)

event Details

Join us for a cello performance in Yona Lee’s An Arrangement for 5 Rooms.

Initially trained as a cellist, Lee’s installation maps narratives of life, music and movement in lyrical compositions of material and space. Inspired by the undulating movements and rhythms within the exhibition, cellist Callum Hall will perform an arrangement of works by Bach and Benjamin Britten.

Cellist Callum Hall has played fulltime in the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra for the past six years while also engaging in a wide range of other musical projects. This year he has performed with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, the Auckland Chamber Orchestra and the Jade String Quartet. He has also toured for Chamber Music New Zealand and has recorded with Atoll Records/Naxos.

Callum holds a doctorate in Musical Arts from Michigan State University, where he studied with cellist Suren Bagratuni.
