Please note: The Creative Learning Centre is currently closed, as the Gallery prepares for the largest exhibition in our 132-year history, Toi Tū Toi Ora: Contemporary Māori Art. It will re-open on Sat 19 Dec — exciting things are happening, so stay tuned!

A day spent exploring the Gallery with your whānau can be lots of fun. Bring the kids and begin your adventure discovering artworks, get involved with some intergenerational art-making together, enjoy storytelling sessions, or set off around Gallery spaces with one of our free Gallery Games.  The Gallery is full of secret spots and discoveries, just waiting for you to uncover.

When you’re ready for a break, take a wander through neighbouring Albert Park or refuel in our café, with snacks and meals available. If you prefer, bring your own food to enjoy in our amphitheatre.

Making your trip into the city easy, Auckland Transport offers FREE child weekend fares (children aged 5–15 with a registered HOP card). For more information click here.
