The Gallery's volunteer guides have brought our remarkable collection of artworks to life for more than 30 years and they continue to play an invaluable role in sharing our stories.

Bringing art and people together in our beautiful exhibition spaces, our volunteer guides lead daily tours for visitors from all over New Zealand and around the world. Covering not only artworks from our collection, these tours also highlight the unique elements of our building, its historical and cultural significance, and its surrounding environment.

Our volunteer guides are a diverse group with a range of life and employment experiences. They are knowledgeable about New Zealand’s art, culture and history, and they are confident and enthusiastic communicators of their knowledge. If this describes you, then we would love to hear from you.
