Gordon Walters
Gordon Walters Archive of Art Books

Artwork Detail
Writing on the art of Gordon Walters (1919-1995) often includes reference to artists and movements that Walters was influenced by and admired. This archive of books previously owned by Walters, provides evidence for these interests. There are illustrated monographs on aboriginal and Oceanic art as well as surrealism and artists such as Paul Klee. Researchers may also be interested in the less well-known artists in the collection and on the inscriptions to be found within some of the covers.
Donated by the Gordon Walters Estate there are twenty four books with publication dates ranging from 1936-1985.
