Giuseppe and Rocco Pozzi were the sons of Stefano Pozzi, an Italian painter and draughtsman. The two brothers worked on this print, Giuseppe making the drawing and his brother making the print. The sculpture had been discovered, along with many others, in the ruins of the Roman Emperor Hadrian’s Villa at Tivoli near Rome. (Venus Rising, 2005)
