Rhona Haszard Scrapbook and Portrait Photograph

Artwork Detail
Rhona Haszard (1901-1931) was a New Zealand Post-Impressionist style painter and print-maker. She attended the Canterbury College School of Art and exhibited at the Paris Salon and in London exhibitions during the 1920s. Settling in Egypt she died tragically, at the age of thirty, the day after a survey exhibition of her work had opened in Alexandria. Henry Haszard was Rhona Haszard's father and the archive is made up of a scrapbook of press clippings from British, Egyptian and New Zealand papers, letters, and ephemera. All pertain to his daughter and her work. In addition there is a studio portrait photograph taken of the artist.
