NZ Society of Sculptors, Painters and Associates Incorporated
NZ Society of Sculptors, Painters and Associates Inc.

Artwork Detail
The Society began in 1962 at the initiation of Paul Beadle, the Head of Elam School of Fine Arts, Auckland. Initially a society for sculptors, in 1969 painters were allowed to become full members. In 1979, recognising the need to include professional artists who were neither painters nor sculptors "associates" was added to the society's name. Artist's Alliance now incorporates this society. The archive consists of meeting minutes, correspondence, meeting agendas, ephemera and exhibition catalogues.
