John Douglas Perrett Sketch Books

J.D. Perrett, landscape painter and pastel artist, was born in Scotland and came to New Zealand c.1886. Along with Girolamo Nerli and Laurence Wilson he set up a private art school in Dunedin, the Otago Arts Academy, in 1894. He exhibited and taught art in Dunedin, Auckland and at several venues in Australia. This archive consists of three sketch books, with an additional three pages about the artist.
