Lover

Lover by Alicia Frankovich

Artwork Detail

'Lover' evokes an absent body with elegant simplicity. Alicia Frankovich’s works manoeuvre between the boundaries that separate our bodies and the objects that we live with. 'Lover' is a representation of a body, a glowing outline of the

space it would occupy, but it also suggests a tool or garment. Performance and sculpture co-exist in Frankovich’s practice. During performances the artist’s body often seems object-like, encumbered by gravity; while the objects she makes are like clothing or equipment, they retain the suggestion of activity.
