Biography
Don Peebles was awarded the NZ Order of Merit in 1999 for his services to New Zealand art, and in 2003 received an honorary Doctorate in Literature from the University of Canterbury. In 2007 he received an Arts Foundation Icon Award, awarded to just 20 living people at any one time.
