Biography
Dr Huhana Smith holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Melbourne, and a Bachelor of Māori Visual Arts, Postgraduate Diploma in Museum Studies and Doctorate in Māori Studies from Massey University. She is Associate Professor and Head of Massey University’s Whiti o Rehua School of Art at Toi Rauwhārangi College of Creative Arts.

Smith’s artworks address the protection of the environment and Māori cultural heritage. She often works with painting to explore physical, cultural and spiritual engagement with landscapes and waterways.
