Overview

Lecturer in the Department of Film, Television and Media Studies Misha Kavka presents an illustrated talk that traces the role and portrayal of women in rock from the all-girl bands such as Ronnettes and the Supremes through to the single, stand-alone megastars such as Tina Turner, Madonna and Björk.
