Overview

Join Ema Tavola, one of three associate curators for Home AKL, as she discusses some of the themes present in the exhibition.

Ema Tavola was the Pacific Arts Co-ordinator, Arts and Culture South for Auckland Council managing the exhibitions gallery, Fresh Gallery Otara since its establishment in 2006. Outside of the Gallery's regular programming, recent curatorial projects of note have included: small axe09 for ARTSPACE (2009), YOU LOVE MY FRESH for Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts (2010) and Ngā Hau E Whā - The Four Winds for the Auckland Arts Festival at Fresh Gallery Otara (2011).

Tavola holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the University of Auckland at Manukau, has recently completed a four-year term on the Pacific Arts Committee of Creative New Zealand and practices as a visual artist and freelance writer and curator.
