If these walls could talk...

Auckland Art Gallery's Docents have a dedicated role in bringing alive the most remarkable collection of artworks by providing daily and special interest tours for its visitors.

The Auckland Art Gallery is inviting applications for our volunteer Docent programme.

The Gallery requests a two-year commitment of your time and enthusiasm; in return we offer the rewards of a shared knowledge and passion for art, among colleagues and visitors that is a very unique experience.

Our introductory training programme - Thursday morning each week for 10 weeks - will give an overview of the Gallery's Collection and exhibition preparation as well as developing the skills essential to presenting engaging tours.

Position applications can be made with a letter of interest and brief curriculum vitae. Some understanding of art history is a requirement and good communication skills are of the utmost importance.
