Real Pictures Gallery was an Auckland based dealer gallery
established and run by Ian MacDonald, which operated from 1979
until 1990. It was almost exclusively dedicated to the exhibiting
of New Zealand photography. Douglas Owen later took over
MacDonald's role as owner and director. Artist and exhibition
files, which include slides and ephemera, make up the majority of
the archive. There are also administration files that include
correspondence, ephemera and notes.
