The E H McCormick Research Library is located on the Mezzanine
level of the Auckland Art Gallery and is open to the public
Monday to Saturday, 1pm-5pm.

Overview
Collections
The Library collects, cares for, and provides access to the
Gallery's research collections.
Library material is not for loan but may be accessed during our
public opening hours.
The Library has extensive research collections on the visual
arts. It has over 3,500 artist files on New Zealand painters,
sculptors and photographers.
We have a major collection of books and exhibition catalogues on
New Zealand and international art. These can be searched via the
online
catalogue.
The Library also holds a number of archives including those of Auckland galleries
Artspace, IKON, Teststrip and Real Pictures. It holds the
papers of New Zealand artists Bruce Barber, Jim Allen, Charles
Tole, John Weeks, Marti Friedlander, May Smith and Tony
Fomison, and of art historians Tony Green and Peter
Tomory.
The archive of the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki includes
the Gallery's exhibition catalogues, and the Gallery Quarterly which contains
information on the Gallery's history, collections and
exhibitions.
