Overview

Studio Courses and Art Labs are taught by Studio Tutor Andrea Gaskin. Maximum enrolment is 15 children per course. 6-8 year old Studio courses run for four Sundays during term-time. 9-13 year old Art Labs run over one day.

Booking is required - please book early to avoid disappointment. Please see below for booking instructions.

For $4 all-day parking at the Victoria Street car park each weekend and on public holidays, pick up a discount voucher from the Gallery's front desk.

CHILDREN AGES 6-8

If I were to live here . . .
In this studio course you will become an architect who imagines and designs landscapes, cityscapes and homes. Create a world that you want to live in and experiment with sculptural construction and design to bring that world to life.

Three Sundays from 12 - 26May

Screen-printed sculptures
Combine silkscreen printing, sculpture and sewing techniques to create your own unique soft-sculpture. Take inspiration from animals found around the Gallery - from dogs and cats to serpents and tigers - and design your own amazing creature.

FAMILIES
(Children ages 5-13 and an accompanying adult)

Studio constructions
Explore art making together in this special studio workshop designed for kids and adults. Bring along a family member, fire up your imagination and experiment with construction techniques to create a fantastical future home inspired by the 5th Auckland Triennial.

If you like our Family Drop-ins [link] and want to take your collaborative art making a step further then this workshop is for you.

HOW TO BOOK

Bookings are now open.

  1. Pick the course(s) you would like to book.
  2. Download the booking form below.
  3. Fill out one form per child and return to education@aucklandartgallery.govt.nz

 

Places are given on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon receipt of your enrolment form we will send you an email confirming your place(s) and give details about how to pay. If spaces are not available we will offer you a place on our waiting list.
